Piazza del Rotunda

This project is a multi-purpose building which includes a hostel, library, chapel, restaurant, large dining space as well as any other appropriate pieces of program the student felt compelled to include.

The site is located in Rome, on the Plaze della Rotunda (in direct contact with the front-face of the Pantheon). This site introduced that challenge of fronting a plaza, needing to turn a busy corner, as well as exist appropriately in the shadow of a ancient monument, as well as incorperating urbanistic and sustainable strategies in a traditionally respectful building.

Digital rendering and drawing aid was allowed, however I made the decision to complete all drawings (process and final drawings, aside from AutoCad floor plans to maintain design-progression consistency and Sketchup model to complete solar-studies)

This project spanned four weeks, and final drawings were completed on trace paper as was required.
